Etsy, Depop & Vinted Fee Calculator

UK rates — see what each platform actually takes, side by side

01 — The item

Total sale (item + postage) £0.00

02 — Platform settings

Etsy

Includes the £0.16 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee, 4% + £0.20 payment processing, and 0.48% regulatory fee automatically.

Depop

Depop dropped its seller commission in 2024 — UK sellers now just pay 2.9% + £0.30 payment processing per sale. Boost is optional and only charged if the boosted listing sells.

Vinted

Vinted charges sellers 0% commission — the Buyer Protection fee is paid by the buyer on top of your listed price and never comes out of your payout.

04 — Keep this accurate

Fee schedules change often across all three platforms. This tool uses representative 2026 UK rates verified against current sources — always cross-check on Etsy's official fee page, Depop's Seller Hub, and Vinted's fee information before setting a price you're relying on.

05 — About this tool

Etsy fees, Depop fees, and Vinted seller fees all work completely differently, which makes comparing them by hand genuinely tricky. Etsy charges a listing fee plus a transaction fee plus payment processing on every sale. Depop dropped its old commission structure back in 2024 and now only charges payment processing. Vinted, unusually, charges sellers nothing at all — the buyer covers the platform's fee instead. This calculator applies each platform's real current UK rate to the same item so you can see, side by side, which one actually nets you the most for a specific sale.

It's aimed at resellers listing the same item across multiple platforms, which is increasingly common practice for anyone serious about maximising reach on secondhand and handmade marketplaces.

Does Vinted really charge sellers nothing?

Yes — Vinted's seller commission is genuinely 0%. The buyer pays a separate Buyer Protection Fee on top of the listed price, which is how Vinted makes money without charging the seller directly.

Why did Depop remove its commission fee?

Depop moved to a payment-processing-only model in 2024, replacing its old flat percentage commission. Sellers now only pay a small processing fee per transaction, plus an optional cost if they choose to boost a listing.

Which platform is cheapest for sellers overall?

Vinted, by a clear margin, since it charges no seller commission at all. Etsy tends to be the most expensive once its listing fee, transaction fee, and payment processing are all added together — though it also reaches a different, often higher-spending audience.
